Hanthana Mountains -Kandy


Famous among local climbers hanthana can be seen from Kandy dressed in mist. A great place to go when you are in Kandy.

Hunnasgiriya Mountain

A fascinating mountain of Knuckles Range is climbers paradise with it's ecology, water streams and surrounding scenes.

Batalegala Mountain

Named as Bible Rock by Europeans this fascinating mountain is seen from Kadugannwa pass on the Kandy Colombo Road. Situated in Aranayaka ecologically important area in central hills.

Mihintale

This sacred mountain peak was where Arahat Mahinda Thro met King Devanapiyatiss which change the History of Sri Lanka to establish Buddhism

Sigriya

Sigiriya is a giant rock peak where King Kashayapa build his citadel and now a world heritage and declared as worlds eighth wonder. Sigiriya frescos and Ancient architectural master pieces of Sri Lankans are the main attractions in Sigiriya.

World's End

One of the attractions of Horton plains is world’s end where one could see the fall to the Tea states down bellow. You can see a dramatic drop of 1312m from world end and a fantastic view of the surrounding hills and the mountain ranges wreathed in mists and clouds and on clear days even the Indian Ocean which is about 81 km to the south is visible.
